New to Risograph?
Riso is made for paper. Try a zine, poster, card, flyer, or illustration. It works for a handful of copies or a bigger run of the same design. Look out for small shifts, the texture of the ink, and the colors that appear where inks overlap.
| Project | Time to allow |
|---|---|
| A few test prints | 30 minutes to 1 hour |
| A few dozen A3 or A4 posters or cards | 1–2 hours |
| A zine reprint or double-sided project | 2 hours or more |
| Printing with three or more colors | Allow extra time |
New to silkscreen?
Pull each print by hand. Silkscreen works on T-shirts, tote bags, and drawstring bags, as well as postcards, cards, and paper bags. For bigger batches, allow extra time to print, dry, and make a few test pulls.
| Project | Time to allow |
|---|---|
| One tote bag on the First-Time Plan | About 1 hour |
| One T-shirt | 1 hour or more |
| A small batch of postcards, cards, or other paper goods | 1 hour or more |
| Ten T-shirts or a bigger batch of paper goods | 2–3 hours or more, depending on the project |
